Debris from the Titanic submarine, which is said to have burst at the bottom of the Atlantic as tourists aboard were attempting to reach the Titanic’s ruins, has drifted ashore.
The massive chunks of metal were unloaded from the Horizon Arctic ship this morning at the Canadian Coast Guard dock in St John’s, Newfoundland, Canada, according to international media.
The move comes exactly 10 days after the Titan went missing on an OceanGate Expeditions tourist trip.
The submarine experienced a ‘catastrophic explosion’ at the bottom of the ocean last Thursday, killing all five persons on board.
The US Coast Guard has initiated an inquiry into the cause of the Titan’s underwater explosion.
Experts regularly expressed concern about the ship’s safety, claiming that it was unsuitable for the enormous depths it visited.
The Coast Guard announced the formation of a marine board of inquiry (MBI), the highest level of investigation.
The Titan was reported missing last Sunday, and the Coast Guard confirmed on Thursday that all five persons aboard died in a devastating explosion.
