President Alexander Lukashenko warned that Belarus will not hesitate to use nuclear weapons if attacked, emphasizing that “he was the one who pressured Russian President Vladimir Putin to deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus.”
According to ANSA, these weapons are likely to arrive next month.
“Everything is prepared. “I believe it will take a few days, but we will get what we asked for,” Lukashenko stated emphatically.
Putin stated four days ago that the deployment of Russian tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus will commence following the completion of building work on the relevant facilities on July 7 or 8.
Russian President Vladimir Putin revealed the proposal to deploy tactical nuclears on public television on March 25.
Belarus would be the first country to possess Russian nuclears following the demise of the Soviet Union.
Russia must maintain authority.
