Hunter Biden pleads guilty to several misdemeanors

Hunter Biden, the son of US President Joe Biden, is anticipated to enter a guilty plea to two tax crimes and to admit to unlawfully possessing a handgun while on narcotics.

After a five-year inquiry, the prosecutor in Dellauer, United States, has submitted various documents in which he acknowledges guilt.

He is anticipated to agree to undertake post-drug treatment and to be monitored.

The specifics of the agreement, which is said to have been made between him and law enforcement, may keep him out of jail.

A court must, however, approve the proposed settlement.

It is unknown when Hunter Biden will appear in court to enter a plea in the tax matter.

Hunter Biden, 53, formerly worked in China and Ukraine as a lawyer and lobbyist.

After testing positive for cocaine, he was expelled from the US Navy in 2014.

The first two allegations stem from his failure to pay taxes in 2017 and 2018, which he has now paid in full.

The weapon possession charge dates back to 2018, when he was a drug addict.

He confesses to using massive amounts of cocaine in his autobiography, which was released in 2021.

However, according to official papers, he is reported to have denied being a user.

His case has come to light as certain Republican politicians and presidential contenders in the United States have accused the incumbent president, Joe Biden, of “weaponizing” the legal system against political opponents.
