The government wants to register fixed border controls similar to those between Germany and Austria with the EU Commission, Interior Minster Nacy Faeser has said
“This decision is completely right and long overdue. Now my colleagues have finally received the tools they need to actually act as border police.”
“But I am particularly pleased that Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz has complied with my request to make this matter a top priority.”
