Elections in Argentina: Beyond the Presidency
Some 35.4 million Argentines were called to elect a president and vice president, as well as renew 130 of the 257 seats in the Chamber of Deputies and 24 of the 72 in the Senate. In addition, 43 Argentine representatives were appointed to the Mercosur Parliament (Parlasur), a legislative body of the bloc made up of Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
