Poland’s ruling conservative party receives the majority of votes, although it is unlikely to have a parliamentary majority

Reuters, October 15, 2017 – An exit poll from the Sunday parliamentary elections in Poland indicated that the incumbent nationalists were leading but were likely to fall short of a majority, opening the door for the liberal opposition to attempt to create a coalition government

According to the Ipsos exit poll, the Law and Justice (PiS) party won 36.8% of the vote or 200 seats in the 460-seat parliament.

The liberal Civic Coalition (KO), the largest opposition coalition, was predicted to receive 31.6% of the vote and 163 seats.

The New Left, which might form a coalition with KO, and the Third Way alliance in the center-right received 13% and 8.6% of the vote, respectively.
