German Chancellor Scholz today welcomed Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides with military honors at the German State Chancellery in Berlin, followed by a news conference and meeting.
Details of their discussions have yet to be disclosed, however Nikos Christodoulides previously stated that he will meet with German Chancellor Scholz to address the Cyprus issue and more EU engagement in this process.
The Cypriot president will also go to Germany for the European Central Bank’s 25th anniversary event.
Christodoulides will also meet ECB President Christine Lagarde at a commemorative dinner.
The press conference for Christodoulides’ meeting with Scholz will take place on Friday morning, before the island president visits the Denkmal monument before departing for Cyprus.
