Iceland’s Prime Minister will join the women’s general strike

Tens of thousands of women – including PM of Iceland Katrín Jakobsdóttir – will stop all work on Tuesday, whether paid or unpaid, in a women’s strike whose organizers want to highlight a “21% gender pay gap” and suffering gender-based violence

Teachers, nurses, and an array of other professions will refuse to work as part of ‘kvennafrí’ – women’s day off.
