The police, however, stated that the 16-year-old wanted to “make a joke” and posted the message along with a video of an assault rifle downloaded from the internet, and now will undergo an “educational assessment” in November by Youth Protection.
“It’s a typical teenager who spends his time playing war games and chatting with others,” Besançon’s public prosecutor said. “There is not a single element that could suggest the beginnings of radicalization.”
