One person was killed and one injured in a knife attack near the Quai de Grenelle in Paris, near the Eiffel Tower, on Saturday evening. The attacker was arrested. This was reported by Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin on X. According to a police source, the man allegedly shouted “Allah Akbar” and was known for psychiatric problems.
“The officers bravely arrested an attacker who was targeting passers-by in Paris, in the fifteenth arrondissement,” Darmanin reports. The police source clarified that the attacker was born in France and has French nationality. According to the police source, the man stated that he could not tolerate the murder of Muslims all over the world.
According to Le Parisien, the deceased is a tourist with dual German and Philippine nationality. The injured victim is an English tourist, the newspaper remembers.
