American economist: Viktor Orban is the only one who sees reality in the Russian-Ukraine war

According to Jeffrey Sachs, the Russians have a significant edge, but he sees a way out of the war’s escalation.

According to world-renowned American economist Jeffrey Sachs in an interview with Magyar Nemzet, Viktor Orban is the only European leader who recognizes the truth of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

“There is no doubt that the war could have been avoided,” says the economist. According to him, the NATO expansion plan largely contributed to the war since the US refused to accept the Russian appeal not to extend the military alliance because it concerns Russia’s national security.

No country, including Russia, is allowed to comment or interfere with NATO’s expansion, according to NATO.

As per Jeffrey Sachs, this is an arrogant position that contributed significantly to the conflict.

Either beat Ukraine on the battlefield or keep the lengthy, arduous conflict going. If he perceives that he can be beaten, he will turn to nuclear weapons, he claimed.

This is how the conflict may end. Long-term peace, according to him, is based on six fundamental principles:

1. The US must make it plain that NATO will not be expanded to include Ukraine and Georgia.

2. Ukraine’s neutrality must be declared.

3. The United Nations Security Council and other governments, including Germany, Turkey, Brazil, and Hungary, share responsibility and assure compliance with the peace accord.

4. NATO member states must tightly restrain Ukraine’s rearmament.

5. Kyiv should be provided with a timetable for joining the European Union as a neutral state.

6. Sanctions on Russia must be eased, and commercial relations between the EU and Russia must be reestablished.

Viktor Orban is the only European leader who sees the situation in Ukraine realistically.

He also realizes, unlike other European leaders, that Russia will not accept defeat on the battlefield without the confrontation developing into a nuclear war.

“And the United States must stop pretending to rule the world and begin addressing its numerous and serious internal problems.” -he continued. /Napi.hu
