The US suspected Ukraine of being behind the Kremlin drone strike

US intelligence believes a drone strike on the Kremlin earlier this month was most likely conducted by Ukrainian spies or military intelligence.

The daily New York Times said in an article that the drone strike looked to be part of a series of clandestine operations that had humiliated authorities in the United States, Ukraine’s largest supplier of military weapons.

Smoke plumes rose above the Kremlin in dramatic images from the earlier this month incident. According to the New York Times, the US judgment was based on intercepted Russian and Ukrainian conversations.

According to the respected American media, American authorities do not think Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed off on all covert activities.

According to authorities, it is unknown to what degree he is informed of such activities in advance.

According to the article, the US intercepted Ukrainian discussions in which authorities stated that their nation was responsible for the assault, as well as Russian contacts showing that it was not a false flag operation by Russia.

Dmitry Peskov, a Kremlin spokesperson, responded to the allegations, saying, “We immediately said that the Kiev regime was behind this.” Zelensky has categorically rejected any Ukrainian participation.
