Javier Milei, the libertarian who emerged a surprise winner in Argentina’s presidential primaries in August, is such an avid proponent of cloning that his five dogs are all clones of his original perished pet
According to the New York Times, last month Milei said that he would appoint a cloning scientist as the chairman of an influential national scientific council if elected. “This is the future,” he claimed.
Conservative firebrand Milei, who also proposed replacing the national currency with the US dollar and eliminating Argentina’s central bank, is likely to come in first place in Sunday’s election, but polls suggest that he would have to face a runoff in November. /TelegraphNews
