Zelenskiy offers the EU a victory plan, requests military support and an invitation to NATO

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has intensified diplomatic efforts, presenting a comprehensive victory plan to the European Union while urging stronger military support and a clear path to NATO membership. During recent meetings with EU leaders, Zelenskiy emphasized the need for advanced weapons, air defense systems, and economic assistance to ensure Ukraine’s resilience against Russian aggression.

Central to his pitch is the formal invitation for Ukraine to join NATO. Zelenskiy argued that membership would not only strengthen Ukraine’s security but also enhance stability across Europe. However, some NATO members remain cautious, citing concerns about further escalation with Russia.

Zelenskiy’s victory plan outlines steps for defeating Russia’s invasion, including a military surge before winter, sanctions enforcement, and accelerated post-war reconstruction. He stressed that Ukraine’s success is critical not just for his nation but for the security of Europe as a whole.

The EU has shown continued support through financial aid and sanctions against Russia, though Zelenskiy is pushing for faster delivery of military aid. With winter approaching, he warned that delays could hinder Ukraine’s ability to defend against intensified Russian attacks.

Zelenskiy’s plea reflects the growing urgency to consolidate international backing, as Ukraine seeks both military strength and a political guarantee for its future within Europe and NATO.
