Lavrov: If NATO does not want to halt the situation in Ukraine, let it fight

According to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, if NATO opposes halting the combat in Ukraine, the military alliance might continue to fight.

“If NATO, through Stoltenbeg, states once more that it is opposed to “freezing” the crisis in Ukraine, they will fight.”

“Let them fight,” Lavrov said to reporters in Minsk, according to the Russian official news agency TASS.

“We have long understood NATO’s goals in the Ukraine situation.”

“For several years following the coup, these goals were established.”

“NATO is now attempting to implement them,” he continued.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated on Monday, during a joint press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, “We all want this war to end.”

“However, a just peace cannot be achieved by halting the fighting and accepting a deal dictated by Russia.”
