More than half of Germans are against sending Taurus missiles to Ukraine, a new poll found on Friday
The poll by public broadcaster ARD found that 52 percent of Germans surveyed oppose supplying missiles to Ukraine as they could be used to attack targets in Russia, writes Al Jazeera.
About 36 percent spoke in favor of sending Taurus missiles, which are jointly produced by Germany and Sweden and have a range of more than 500 km (310 miles).
Despite mounting pressure from Ukraine, Chancellor Olaf Scholz has so far been cautious about sending the Taurus missiles, fearing it could make Germany a party to the conflict with Russia.
