The Ukrainians have started training with F16 fighter jets, Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said, reports the World today
However, six months of education is considered the minimum required, said Mr. Reznikov in a television interview.
It is not yet known how long it will take to train the engineers and mechanics, he added.
Mr. Reznikov said he would not give details on where and when the training will take place.
He was speaking two days after a US official said the F16s would be transferred to Ukraine after the country’s pilots had learned how to operate them.
“To create reasonable expectations, set a minimum of six months in your mind, but don’t be disappointed if it takes longer,” Reznikov told Channel 24.
