The G20 accounts for over 85% of global GDP, 75% of global trade, and roughly two-thirds of the world’s population.
The G20 was formed two decades ago to engage significant emerging economies in discussions formerly limited to the Group of Seven developed economies.
Following the 2007-2008 financial crisis, the G20 designated itself the key platform for international economic and financial cooperation, convening summits of its finance ministers and central bank governors.
Argentina, Australia, Brazil, and Chile comprise the group.
China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, and Italy
Mexico, Russia, and Saudi Arabia are among the countries represented.
South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union.
